Sadhu, Holy Men of Nepal and India

About 1.3 million Sadhu roam the plains and upper regions of India and Nepal.  Often they attend their own funerals and are consider legally dead by the state.  Ascetic, yogis, living alone or communally, celibate or ritually sexual, these Sadhu live a simple life supported by the generosity of their supplicants. It seems the standard price of having a picture taken is two bucks, U.S., really. They are very friendly and approachable. I suspect some of their preferred locations each day are franchised, or prearranged.
